Yura Boersma
Korean-born, Dutch-raised, Singapore-based. A lifelong outsider.
I work with people who never fully fit one place: expats, adoptees, and anyone navigating that strange in-between phase of starting over later in life.
My counselling is grounded, direct, and free of therapy jargon. If you want honesty and someone who knows what rebuilding yourself really feels like, you’re in the right place.

My way of work
My sessions are steady, honest, and grounded in two ideas that shaped my life:
Stoic principles about what we can and cannot control, and existential ideas about choice, freedom, and the kind of life you want to build.
Nothing abstract — just simple tools to help you face life instead of trying to escape it, because you can’t think your way out of something your body hasn’t released yet.
I’ve learned that starting over later in life isn’t a failure — it’s perspective.
And because I know what long-term stress and complex trauma feel like from the inside, I work slowly, gently, and at your pace.
Just real conversations and practical tools — grounding exercises, journaling, Stoic reflections, and learning to respond instead of react.
