Yura Boersma
Born in Korea, raised in the Netherlands, living in Singapore.
I work with people in transition — expats, adoptees, and anyone who’s reinventing themselves.
My counselling is practical, grounded, and free of the usual therapy jargon. If you’re looking for honesty and someone who knows what it’s like to start over again, I’m here.

My way of work
My sessions are steady, honest, and grounded in two ideas that shaped my life:
Stoic principles about what we can and cannot control, and Existential ideas about choice, freedom, and the kind of life you want to build.
Nothing abstract — just simple tools that help you face life instead of running from it.
We look at the things you keep pushing aside — the decisions, memories, and feelings that follow you even when you try to ignore them.
I’ve learned that starting over isn’t doomed — it’s often just a shift in perspective.
I move slowly and steadily because lived experience has shown me what long-term stress and CPTSD can do to the body and mind.
The work has to feel manageable and at your pace.
Just real conversations and practical tools — grounding exercises, journaling, Stoic reflections, and learning to respond instead of react.
